Yes. New accounts get a $20 welcome credit applied automatically — enough to run the default service configuration free through your first month. The credit expires at the end of your first billing month, so any unused balance doesn't carry over. Projects are free and unlimited, and each project includes up to 10 websites free. You only need a verified billing method for non-default service sizes or extra provisioned instances.

Install the Forte GitHub App (github.com/apps/forte-platforms) on the repositories you want to deploy. Once installed, those repositories appear in the picker when you create a service or website, and pushes to your configured branches trigger deployments.
Content Hosting is in Closed Alpha — you can request access from the console. Uploads are processed automatically: videos are transcoded into multiple formats and resolutions for adaptive streaming, images are formatted into modern formats like WebP and AVIF, and content is served from a global CDN with the documented pricing model. Built-in moderation flags inappropriate content.
Forte runs on AWS, Cloudflare, and OVH. We utilize various levels of abstraction from these vendors (everything from bare metal dedicated machines to edge functions). On top of those backbones we run our own compute, networking, and build layers.
You pick the region your workloads run in. Within that region, Forte distributes them between providers to optimize for price and performance — that's a large part of why Forte's compute pricing is what it is, since we're not passing a single vendor's list price through to you. The reliability, DDoS protection, and TLS guarantees are the same regardless of which provider a given workload lands on.
Forte supports five regions: North America - East, North America - West, Europe - Central, Europe - West, and Asia - South. You pick the region when you create a service.
For enterprise customers we also run fully supported custom deployments in Dubai, Brazil, Spain, France, South Africa, Japan, South Korea, and Poland. Pricing differs from the standard regions — contact us if you need one of these.
Yes. Forte is HIPAA compliant, and we'll sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for workloads that handle protected health information — contact us to put one in place. Security is on by default: DDoS protection and an API gateway in front of every app, managed authentication, encryption in transit and at rest, and customer code isolated in its own micro-VM.
For compliance questions — including SOC 2 — or to request security documentation for a vendor review, contact support and we'll answer directly. Forte undergoes regular third-party penetration testing, encrypts data in transit and at rest, and isolates each customer's code in its own micro-VM so no two customers share a virtual machine. HIPAA compliance and BAAs are available for workloads that handle protected health information.
