Content & storage
Content Hosting is enabled for a limited group while Forte validates processing, moderation, delivery, interfaces, limits, formats, and retention. Request access from your account console. Confirm production requirements with Support before making Content a critical storage dependency.
When you upload media to Forte, it becomes Content. Content Hosting prepares your raw files for global distribution: it transcodes videos, formats images, and serves everything from a content delivery network (CDN).
How it works
Forte processes each file based on its type. It transcodes videos into formats and resolutions for adaptive streaming. It also converts images to formats such as WebP and AVIF at different sizes. Forte then distributes the processed files through a global CDN.
Built-in tools
Forte includes tools for hosting and distributing content:
- Automatic transcoding and formatting: Upload a file once. Forte creates video and image variants for different clients and devices.
- Global CDN with no egress fees: Forte distributes your content through a global CDN without charging egress fees.
- Configurable moderation: Forte can detect and flag inappropriate content based on your settings.
Responsibility boundary
Forte operates upload handling, configured transformations, storage, and CDN delivery. You own upload authorization, rights to the source material, moderation decisions, retention requirements, and application behavior when processing fails or a file is rejected.
Object storage
Direct object storage is available to a limited group while Forte validates the interface. Contact Support to request access.
Object storage lets your services store and serve files such as uploads, exports, and backups.
