Payments

Forte supports one-time payments, saved payment methods, ACH bank debits, and recurring subscriptions. It calculates tax, processes payments through Stripe, and sends payment triggers to your Services.

Operating model

Payments belong to a Project and reference one of your Users. Your server previews or creates the amount and accepted methods; the browser confirms customer-present payment details through Stripe. Forte records payment state and delivers configured payment events to your Services with signature verification and retries.

Subscriptions create recurring payments on a schedule and expose incomplete, active, past-due, grace-period, and cancelled behavior through documented state.

Responsibility boundary

Forte operates the product-facing API, Stripe integration, tax calculation inputs, payment and subscription state, and trigger delivery. You own the goods or service being sold, price, refund policy, customer communication, fulfillment, retry-safe handler behavior, and compliance obligations for the business.

Start in a Sandbox Project. Sandbox uses test payment behavior and must not be treated as a live charge or production compliance test.
